Chelsea Thrashed by Barcelona in Women's Champions League Final
Blaugrana Dominate Blues in Historic Victory
Chelsea's Hopes of Reaching the Final Dashed
Chelsea Women suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Women's Champions League final on Sunday evening. The Blues conceded four goals in the first 36 minutes as Barcelona blew them away at the Gamla Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Emma Hayes' side were hoping to reach their third Champions League final in four years, but their dreams were shattered by a Barcelona side who were ruthless in front of goal. Caroline Graham Hansen, Aitana BonmatĂ, and Alexia Putellas all scored in the first half, with Hansen adding a fourth after the break.
Chelsea's defeat is a huge disappointment for the club and their fans. They had been in impressive form throughout the tournament, but they were simply outclassed by a Barcelona side who are now the undisputed queens of European football.
