Portland Timbers V La Galaxy Vanney Impressed By Confidence In Attacking Ranks

Portland Timbers v LA Galaxy: Vanney impressed by confidence in attacking ranks

LA Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney was impressed by his team's confidence in the attacking ranks during their 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers.

The Galaxy took the lead in the 10th minute through Riqui Puig, but the Timbers equalized in the 51st minute through Santiago Moreno. Despite the Timbers having more of the possession and chances in the second half, the Galaxy held on for a point.

Vanney was pleased with his team's performance and believes they can continue to improve.

"I thought we were really good in the first half," Vanney said. "We played with a lot of confidence and created some good chances. We were a little bit unlucky not to get a second goal. In the second half, Portland came out and put us under a lot of pressure. We had to defend a lot, but we did it well. Overall, I'm happy with the point and the performance."

The Galaxy are now unbeaten in their last three games and have moved up to sixth place in the Western Conference. Vanney believes his team can continue to improve and make a push for the playoffs.

"We're starting to find our rhythm and playing with more confidence," Vanney said. "We have a lot of quality in the attacking third and we're starting to create more chances. I'm excited to see what this team can achieve in the second half of the season."
